Ruth Cobos received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), Spain, in 2003. She is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the UAM. She has been as post-doctoral researcher at the Technical University Munich (Germany) and at the University of Southampton (United Kingdom). She is author of more than 80 scientific publications and has participated in more than 15 research projects related to CSCW, CSCL and Educational Technologies. During 2008 and 2009 she coordinated a project funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation. She was designated as Rector’s Delegate for Educational Technologies from 2014 to 2016 at the UAM. During this period, she was the director of the UAMx Office (the technological department for generating MOOCs by UAM Faculty) at the UAM. She has been invited as a speaker in different events related to on-line courses management, learning analytics and collaborative learning. Her main research areas include Social learning, Blended learning, Learning Analytics, MOOCs and Educational Technologies.
