Prof. Pong is a Senior Advisor to the Executive Vice-President & Provost, Director of the Center for Engineering Education Innovation and Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at HKUST. He joined HKUST as a founding faculty member in 1991. Before joining HKUST, he was an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Minnesota. He is currently leading the effort in the development of MOOCs and blended learning courses at HKUST. His MOOC on Java Programming was recognized as one the 10 most popular edX courses in 2016.
